Creating a colour scheme for your home
Are you trying to pick a colour palette for your entire house? This can be a stressful experience. We understand that finding a colour for one room is hard enough so trying to find the right colour scheme for your entire house can be daunting.
There are a few steps you can follow to help relieve the pressure and help you decide on the right colour scheme for your home.
Play around with some samples
You may already have some colours in mind, it’s a great idea to test these out in each room and see how you feel about them, you can splash some paint on the walls or stick some sample pieces next to each other. Don’t be afraid to have fun with it. You can choose a soft neutral palette or go big and bold. It’s all up to you!
The main room is important
For example, your main living space or kitchen is a great place to start. This is an easy way to make the process a little less complex, then you can start narrowing it down room by room. You can then start to match each room to the main colour. You can use different shades of the main colour or you may find you prefer to go for a different theme in different areas of your house.
Joint spaces
Keep in mind that joint spaces like stairways and hallways should generally be kept as the same colour. If you are using soft shades in your home you can vary them in these areas though again it is up to you.
